WHITE VINEGAR
White vinegar is the perfect solution for economical cleaning throughout the house. Discover all the magical facets of this product
White vinegar, an eco-friendly and inexpensive cleaning product
Disinfectant, deodorizer, cleaner, descaler… it is formidable for making everything shine in the house. And as it degrades quickly and completely, it leaves no trace in the environment. Ecological, economical and devilishly effective, white vinegar has it all in the house, and is also used in the composition of many cleaning product recipes.
White vinegar: how to use it in the house?
As white vinegar dissolves limestone, we therefore abuse to descale everything in the house. To remove scale from a kettle or coffee maker, for example, heat half of its volume in water and the other half in white vinegar. Rinse well and perform two or three clean water heating cycles.
White vinegar also restores shine to glasses and silverware. Soak your silver cutlery in white vinegar and… be patient! Also note that, while white vinegar is a non-toxic product, the residue from cleaning your cutlery is!
To clean your microwave, fill a bowl one-third full with a mixture of half water and half white vinegar, then put it to heat in the microwave. When boiling, turn off the microwave and leave the bowl for 2 hours. Magical !
White vinegar is also an excellent degreaser. To clean your bottoms of saucepans or casseroles, for example, pour 2 cm of white vinegar and bring to the boil. Cover because the smell will not be pleasant! Otherwise, you can perform the operation cold (it is then odorless), but let it soak well for at least half a day. Rinse well.
But that's not all ! White vinegar also kills germs and can be a great everyday alternative to bleach. White vinegar gets rid of bad smells. It is therefore ideal for cleaning the fridge or the cages of your pets. That said, be aware that the smell of white vinegar does not appeal to cats and that some may desert their litter washed with white vinegar. Unlike bleach, which cats love.
White vinegar throughout the house!
IN THE KITCHEN
Multi-purpose anti-limescale cleaner: Spray white vinegar on the surfaces to be treated. Leave on for 15 minutes and wipe off with a microfiber cloth.
Clean the cutting boards: Simply rub it with a sponge soaked in white vinegar. If your cutting board is heavily marked, you can also soak it directly in white vinegar for 5 to 10 minutes.
Clean the taps: Moisten household paper with white vinegar, and wrap this household paper around your taps: they will come out scaled.
Shine dishes: Vinegar removes grease, cleans and degreases glass, and shines dishes by adding it to the rinse water. To make copper pans shine, simply rub them with a small handful of coarse salt sprinkled with vinegar.
Unclog a sink: Mix baking soda and vinegar then pour down the drain. It will be uncorked and deodorized.
IN THE LIVING ROOM
Clean the windows: Mix 1 part vinegar with 5 parts water, you will obtain a most effective window cleaning product.
Removing stains: For carpet or fabrics, rub ink, coffee, rust, wine stains with a cloth soaked in vinegar. Even if there is little risk, give it a try on a hidden piece.
IN THE GARDEN
Vinegar is ideal for cleaning garden pots and removing traces of limescale.
