GARLIC

The Advantages, Health Benefits and Disadvantages of Garlic

Advantages

Relieves Nasal Constipation

Since garlic has a very strong and peculiar odor, it has been shown that it could promote nasal decongestion for people who suffer from it,

Lowers Blood Pressure

Garlic is known to bring many benefits to the cardiovascular health of the person who consumes it regularly. In fact, the ajoene contained in garlic, a by-product of allicin, would reduce the risk of many heart diseases such as angina, heart attacks, strokes, infarctions and prevents clot formation. in the blood, which contributes to the reduction of blood pressure.

However, by lowering your blood pressure, you also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease since hypertension, like hypercholesterolemia, is a very important risk factor in the onset of these diseases.

Reduction of Bad Cholesterol

Some studies show that consuming or taking garlic or garlic tablets would reduce bad blood cholesterol and the risk of vascular and heart problems. However, this is not completely true however, garlic helps reduce the risk of blood clots and reduces the risk of heart attack.

Decreased Cancer Risks

Here, we will talk about raw, cooked or mashed garlic and not garlic supplements (tablets). A study shows that by consuming 5 to 6 cloves of garlic per week, this would reduce the risk of cancer, i.e. a 50% reduction in the risk of stomach cancer, 30% reduction in colorectal cancer and 50% decrease in prostate cancer. But hey, these studies aren't really scientific, so it's certain that you won't lose anything by eating more garlic every week, but don't believe that it saves you from the risk of cancer either.

Antiviral and Antibacterial

Formerly widely used for its antiviral and antibacterial properties, it is true that garlic helps prevent and fight infections.

Disadvantages

bad breath

Garlic tastes very good but unfortunately it causes a rather foul breath in a way. If you consume garlic and want to remove that breath from your mouth, it is recommended to eat parsley because it is very rich in chlorophyll, which will allow you to eliminate your bad garlic breath.

Digestive Problems

When a person consumes raw garlic, it may be more difficult to digest than cooked garlic, so there may be reflux, burping, etc.

1.
